Responding to Reviews
Pubdate helps you keep on top of customer reviews without logging into every platform.
How Review Alerts Work
When Pubdate finds a new review for your pub, you get a WhatsApp with the reviewer's name, the rating, and where the review came from.
You can reply straight from WhatsApp. No dashboard login needed.
Replying from WhatsApp
If you want Pubdate to draft a response, reply naturally:
Say thanks and mention we're glad they enjoyed the music.
Apologise for the slow service and ask them to email us so we can make it right.
Pubdate turns your message into a polished review response and sends it for approval before anything is posted.
Approving or Changing the Reply
When you get the draft reply, you can:
- Approve it — reply "yes", "send it", or similar
- Edit it — say what to change, such as "make it warmer" or "remove the apology"
- Skip it — reply "skip" if you do not want to respond
Once approved, Pubdate posts the reply on supported connected platforms and confirms when it is live.
Platform Notes
Facebook review replies are supported when your Facebook page is connected.
Google review polling and replies depend on Google Business Profile API access for your account. If that access is not available yet, Pubdate can still help you see and manage review activity, but posting the Google reply may need a manual step.
Showing Reviews on Your Pub Website
You can choose which reviews appear on your public pub website from the Reviews section of your dashboard. This is separate from replying to the review: a review can be answered privately in the workflow and still be hidden from the public site if you prefer.
If You Do Not Reply
If a review is still unanswered after a while, Pubdate sends a reminder. You can reply to the reminder the same way: send the response you want, ask for a draft, or skip it.
